"We are on a grace-filled mission to make disciples, reach the lost and restore New Testament church life locally, regionally and to other nations"

about us

King's Church Cockermouth started in 1979 when a small group of Christians from Cockermouth and the surrounding villages started to gather together. Over the years this group has been growing and in that time has met on Sundays at various venues including All Saints Rooms and the URC building in Main Street. Now approximately 200 people come together on Sunday mornings at Cockermouth School.

King's Church is part of the Evangelical Alliance, which represents over 7,000 churches in the UK, as well as Churches Together in Cockermouth. We are also part of Newfrontiers. Newfrontiers is a growing worldwide family of churches with over 600 churches in 40 different nations of the world.

Our meetings on Sunday are held at 10.30am at Cockermouth School. As well as our main meeting we have a creche and groups for children and teens. During the week we hold regular prayer meetings as well as meeting informally in one another's homes in House Groups.

In the town we run The Word Bookshop in Station Street which is currently being refurbished and the Reef Cafe in Challoner Street for youngsters from Years 7 to 13. Our Church Offices are also in the same building in Challoner Street.

Feel free to browse the navigation on the left to find out more about our activities.

Cockermouth School address is Castlegate Drive, Cockermouth, Cumbria , CA13 9HF.
